A Private School is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Secondary Economics Teacher to join our international school in Limassol, Cyprus, starting September 2026.
This role combines high-level academic teaching with real-world financial skills, preparing students both for Cambridge examinations and for life beyond school.
About the Role
- You will teach Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Economics, ensuring that students gain a deep understanding of microeconomics, macroeconomics, global perspectives, and applied economic decision-making. Additionally, you will develop and deliver a Financial Literacy programme for lower secondary students.
We seek a teacher who brings passion, clarity, and relevance to the subject—someone who shows students how Economics connects to everyday choices, global issues, and future careers.

Main Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Teach Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Economics, delivering well-planned lessons that support strong exam outcomes
Design and teach a Financial Literacy curriculum covering topics such as budgeting, saving, banking, investing, entrepreneurship, taxation, and responsible financial behaviour
- Use differentiated and interactive teaching methods—case studies, debates, simulations, data analysis, real-world scenarios
- Encourage critical thinking, problem solving, and independent inquiry
Assessment & Tracking
- Prepare students thoroughly for external examinations, using past papers, formative assessments, and individualised feedback
Track academic progress and communicate regularly with students and parents
Classroom Environment & Behaviour
- Maintain a positive, respectful learning environment with clear expectations
Manage behaviour using proactive, consistent strategies that align with school policy
Professional & Community Engagement
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to curriculum development
Support school events, clubs, competitions (e.g., economics challenges, entrepreneurship fairs)
- Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and all school policies
Requirements
- Degree in Economics or a closely related field
- Experience teaching Economics at secondary level—ideally Cambridge IGCSE and/or A Level
- Strong communication skills and ability to simplify complex economic concepts
- Comfort teaching multilingual learners and adapting instruction
- International experience is an advantage
- Eligibility or willingness to obtain a Cyprus work permit
