I’m selling my Porsche Cayman S (981), a car I bought for myself. It’s one of those cars you don’t really need to explain to someone who understands what it is – you just drive it and get it immediately.
This is the 2014 model with the 3.4 naturally aspirated flat-six producing 325 horsepower. No turbo, no artificial feel – just pure, linear power and a sound that modern cars simply don’t have anymore. It’s actually one of the last Cayman generations with this kind of engine, which makes it a bit special.
The car has 77,300 km and comes with the PDK dual-clutch, perfext quick gearbox. The paddle shifters on the steering wheel make a big difference when you start driving it more dynamically. The car was first registered in the UK, then brought to Poland, and now it’s in Cyprus. I’m the third owner.
What really stands out is how it drives and feels. It has PASM, which is Porsche Active Suspension Management, so you can switch between a more comfortable setup for daily driving and a much stiffer, sportier one when you want to push it a bit. The sports exhaust with active valves sounds incredible – deep when cruising, aggressive when you open it up, and it gives you that proper “popcorn” crackling on downshifts that never gets old. Inside, it’s finished with full leather, heated seats and Porsche crests embossed on the headrests. It also has a Bose sound system, which sounds great and really fits the character of the car, plus front and rear parking sensors and electrically folding mirrors, so it’s still very usable on a daily basis. For peace of mind, the car is also equipped with an additional electronic anti-theft security system (around 700€).
It sits on optional 20-inch alloy wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. These are semi-slick performance tires, and you can really feel it – the grip is on another level, especially in corners. The car just sticks to the road. Visually, the car already has a more aggressive front look, and I will soon be installing a GTS-style rear bumper to match the front – it simply looks much better and completes the car.
Maintenance has always been done properly. Oil has been changed regularly every 8–9 thousand kilometers. At 47,900 km the gearbox oil was replaced. In January this year, I replaced all spark plugs and ignition coils, cleaned the throttle bodies and did a fresh oil service using Motul 300V Competition 5W50.
Overall, the car is in very good condition and drives exactly as it should. It’s not a garage queen that never sees the road, but it’s been treated with respect and kept in great shape.
