Primary class teacher
A Private School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join our committed team. The successful candidate will be an inspirational educator with a strong understanding of the National Curriculum and a passion for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences. This role is suited for a teacher who is experienced in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 and is committed to supporting pupils’ academic and personal development in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) with KYΣATS accreditation (or willingness to obtain).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from a UK university or a subject-specific degree accompanied by a PGCE (or an equivalent qualification) is desirable and is also subject to accreditation by KYΣATS.
- Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
- Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
- Experience using a range of assessment and differentiation strategies.
- Fluent in spoken and written English, demonstrating excellent communication skills at a native or near-native level.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Reflective, resilient and committed to continuous professional growth.
- Passionate about fostering a growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and Curriculum Delivery
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated and engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum and school schemes of work.
- Ensure that all pupils make excellent progress through effective teaching strategies, assessment for learning and personalised support.
- Integrate technology and other innovative approaches into teaching practice where appropriate.
Classroom Management and Behaviour
- Establish a positive, well-organised classroom environment that supports learning and promotes high standards of behaviour.
- Implement the school’s behaviour policy consistently to support a respectful and inclusive learning environment.
Pupil Assessment and Progress Tracking
- Use formative and summative assessment strategies to monitor pupil progress.
- Maintain detailed records and use data to inform planning and interventions.
- Provide regular, constructive feedback to pupils in line with school assessment policy.
Parental and Community Engagement
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers through parent meetings, reports and informal updates.
- Work in partnership with families to support children’s learning, development, and well-being.
Pastoral and Safeguarding Duties
- Take responsibility for the pastoral care and safeguarding of pupils in the class, identifying concerns and following school procedures.
- Promote the well-being and personal development of all pupils through a nurturing approach.
Professional Development and Collaboration
- Contribute to staff meetings, planning sessions and whole-school events.
- Engage in professional development and stay current with best practices in education.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, support staff and the wider school community.
